The Hurricane is heading for the coast. You only have one month to get ready another total butt kicking. You know how those Summerville boys do their CSAUP event.

Just like last year, this is going to be one giant suckathon. Imagine the old Navy base, the heat, humidity, salt water and pluff mud for five hours. You’ll embrace the suck and end at a brewery with food trucks.

It will be tough. It will be wet. It will be Completely Stupid and Utterly Pointless. It will be awesome. And yes, you’ll get a new patch.

When is it?

Saturday, May 7th, 7:00 am

Where is it?

The old Charleston Navy base. We will meet at Coast Brewing Company.

What is The Hurricane?

It’s a trek through the old Charleston Naval Shipyard. There will be some light running, but mostly hiking with a ton of pain stations and heavy coupons. We will assemble at Coast Brewing Company and move as a team through the shipyard, down roads, across train tracks and fields and through water. Yes, you will get wet. But not just wet… you will get straight up nasty. Sounds amazing, doesn’t it.

We will end it all back at Coast Brewing Company for some of the southeast’s best beer, a couple awesome food trucks and a whole lot of fellowship.

Why do something so completely stupid and utterly pointless? Because it actually isn’t pointless. You’ll prove to yourself that you’re much more of a badass than you think you are. You’ll build unbreakable bonds with your brothers. You’ll become a true member of a team. That’s the point.

Who are the event Qs?

Goose, Hot Spot and Jingles

Is it ruck friendly?

Heck yes. This is great for GoRuck Challenge prep.

What kind of equipment do I need?

None, although you might consider some kind of high socks to protect your shins, and a hydration backpack is always a good idea. Other than that, normal workout gear will suffice. Did we mention you will get wet?

Do I need to know how to swim?

No. But use your best judgment – we’re crossing some creeks and we may end up in the river. PFD’s are appropriate.

How long will this take?

Around four to five hours. Feel free to have your family join us at the end.

What does this cost?

Nada. Zero. Zilch. Just bring a few bucks to chip in for water along the way and the beer/food if you choose to partake, which we strongly encourage.

Who is invited?

Any male who is 18+. This is a good opportunity to HC some new FNGs. We’re also hoping that some of our brothers from other regions join us.

Do we need volunteers?

Yes. We need help with logistics, communications, hydration, photos and probably a whole lot of things we haven’t thought of yet. Maybe your M or 2.0 will want to help here. Please click here now and tell us that you want to volunteer in the message box.

What route will we follow?

We can’t tell you that quite yet. It would ruin all the fun. We will mix it up from last year.

Where do I sign up?

Please click here now or HC below in the comments section. We need an approximate headcount so please don’t dilly-dally. Go ahead and hard commit!
