NMM
I couldn’t remember what now occupies the old Golden Corral building (it’s a John Deere dealership) so when I called the location I said the ‘hill between Fazoli’s and Golden Corral’. The rest of the BC was spent reminiscing the simpler times and all-you-can-eat carbs. If you just emerged from under a rock and aren’t familiar with Fazoli’s, it’s kinda like Olive Garden’s meth-head cousin; their business models overlap by way of all you can eat breadsticks. The only difference – Fazoli’s doesn’t wait for you to ask for them. There was a lady that walked around with a basket every 10-15 minutes like clockwork.
Anyways…I wasn’t sure how the work would turn out since we’ve never crawlbeared that far (about 100 yards, and uphill at that). It was a mistake to say the least so all kinds of audibles were called. Everyone was a good sport dough and spirits remained high.
I often think about the breadstick lady, and I hope she thinks about me because we shared something special all those years ago. It was a nice trip down memory lane. Maybe next time we’ll go check out the hill in front of Rosie O’Malley’s. You know the spot – the one between Del Taco and Schlotzsky’s?
Respectfully yours,
Inspector
