4 posted for some two v two races at Fury
At the coffee run on Wednesday, MeterMaid asked if I had given any thought to the workout on Sat. and since no one was signed up, I should probably prepare for the Q. Of course unbeknownst to us, Meatloaf had planned to Q the weekly convergence by signing up at some AO’s Q sheet not named Fury. So after dropping the teaser, he alerts us to his intentions. He then decides that not only can he not Q, he can’t post. Things tend to workout for a reason.
YHC Q’d a workout at the Shipyard a few weeks back that had some really cool team races. Wanting to take advantage of a larger crowd, I was thinking about trying some new team races at Fury. The numbers unfortunately were low as many people were gone for Spring Break. The races however would go on somehow………..
Conditions: 66F clear skies and dry
Disclaimer: Given after the one minute warning.

Like what was stated earlier, YHC was expecting a slightly larger crowd. All the same though, it was great to be able to race against these 3 studs. There was much mumblechatter between long spats of heavy heavy breathing trying to recover from going so hard during each race.
YHC went out the night before with Koby and Pusher, neither of which posted, and proceeded to post in a heavily dehydrated state. There were signs of Merlot that were soooo close to spilling, but at the last second compsure was regained and the yak subsided.
During both sets of box jumps, the difference between the winner and the loser was a slight bobble to was made at the at some point which allowed the other team to inch ever so slightly ahead. These were by far the most competitive races that we performed.
Good times were to be had afterwards at Howard’s as Pacer and myself stopped by for some good food, good atmosphere, with a variable cost rate for the food. Pusher was already there when we arrived. He was spouting some apologetic nonsense about not posting. He was no doubt used to snoozing during the week and being ready 45 minutes later.
The races were all super intense. No one wanted to consistently perform the loser’s toil, and as some could have guessed, we were all losers and winners during the various races. A race wiped each of us out with an exhaustion fueled by the desire to win. It was an honor to wake and get better with each of these 3 fine men. Until next time.
