Conditions- upper 50’s and precipitous
Woke up at 0447 in a panic. Not exactly sure what I used to brush my teeth, but I think I used it for deodorant too. Glad I had everything laid out because there’s no telling what I would have rolled up wearing, or not wearing. Made it just in time for the one minute warning and disclaimer.
Head to the pull up bars and procure a coupon. There was some instant mumblechatter and accusations flying that I promised a dry gazebo workout. Hold your wads boys. We’ll get there. It did start to rain as we approached the bars, and visions of Tweeters and Bandwagons went through my head. I didn’t want anyone slipping off the bar, so grab your coupon and head to the gazebo.
Warm up- 30 SSH IC (farmers carried my and UJ’s coupons, so had to get the blood back flowing in the forearms)

NMM- There was a nice line of vehicles awaiting as I pulled in on 2 wheels. I have only been awake for about 12 minutes at this point, so I’m still a little foggy. There was not a lot of excitement when I said to head to the pull up bars. It was a tad sloshy on the way, but we needed the coupons. I wanted to lay off of the legs in hopes to get some of the Dam2Dam runners to post. I also wanted to move some weight around too and keep the cardio kind of low. The work was set out and each PAX could go at their own pace. It’s you against you. I know for myself, if I am going to roll out of a toasty fartsack at 0430, then I am going to make the most of my time in the gloom by going all in. Same with form. To truly get better at any exercise, start with good form and build the speed from there. If you start with crappy form, then you will only get better a crappy form. Risking injury from poor form isn’t worth it either. Good form takes longer. Good form is harder. I know, I get it. You don’t want to come in last at a bootcamp. So what. That’s not what the workout is all about. It’s about leaving better than you came. Halfa$$ing will have you leaving just like you came. But, you do you. Speaking of good form and studliness, BabyBlu and Sugar made light work out of this workout. Well, at least until right about the next to last round. They were scanning the weinke and decided to regroup and attack it as team. They had discovered what I had for a “Finisher”, which was burpees. So, after much deliberation off to the side, they precisely laid out the remainder of the work to run the clock out. I will say that I did see some burpees done before I called recover. Piddler was across from me with his first Fury post in quite some time. He is on fire right now. Keep it up man. Great to have 2C and Weaver back out. Foreclosure has become a Fury regular. Between him and our reigning Fury points champion, Inspector, I just assume they’re going to be there. It’s what they do. I can honestly say that I didn’t know some of these guys were even under the gazebo. It was dark and only moans and groans to be heard. Sugar and BabyBlu kept the mumblechatter alive on my end. And it never failed, something funny would be said right as soon as I had a coupon above my face. And then there was the usual ” Kill! Kill! Kill! Death! Death! Death!” chant from Uncle Jesse as he enjoys the Breaking Benjamin channel on Amazon Music. Deep down I think he really likes it. I may pull this one out of the hat again sometime with the burpees in a different rotation. And maybe some thrusters, given all the special requests. Peace out until next time.
Southern Belle is hanging up…
