Back in college (and even high school) we liked to get together and drink beer before heading to whatever event was on tap for that day/evening. We affectionately called, and still call, this tradition “pre-drinking”(Sour and Snake Eyes know what I’m talking about). One of our favorite pre-drinking rituals was the “power hour”. Basically, you take a 1oz shot of beer every minute for an entire hour (60 shots of beer). Doesn’t sound like much, but it definitely was effective.
With Fury moving to a 60 minute workout on weekdays, I wanted to get in a workout that was effective as well. So I tried to put something down on paper that would test the limits of all PAX in attendance. I think that was accomplished, but I can definitely add more as two people did finish the work.
Here is what went down:
The Thang
Start at Pull-up bars – Grab a block and run one lap around perimeter of dog park pond with block (Approx 1000 meters give or take)
Then complete the following:
30 Burpees
50 Pull-ups
Bear Crawl to the woods (~25 yards)
100 Merkins
Burpee Broad Jump back to pull up bars (~25 yards)
100 Thrusters
Bear Crawl to the woods (~25 yards)
100 Big Bois
Burpee Broad Jump back to pull up bars (~25 yards)
50 Pull-ups
30 Burpees
Grab Block and run another lap around perimeter of pond with block

- Great job by everyone there today. I promised a hard workout and no one shied away.
- Refugee – we need help fixing the pull-up bar. The one on the right is rotating making it difficult to hold onto.
- Shoulders are still burning as I type.
- We had a few claim they were close to merlot, but no one delivered.
- True story – on the days I post with Inspector, I find myself humming the “inspector gadget” theme song all day long.
