Tsunami has mini Murph which often becomes the butt of jokes unless Godzilla is taking the heat. Fury claims to be the toughest workout in town, so I felt ramping your standard Murph up a notch would accomplish that objective (and get it some quality Spartan training). No joking with the workout.
As always, Inspector was in the house on Thursday and the two of us put in some serious work. It went like this:
Mega Murph (at least that’s what I’m calling it for now)
Start at Pull-up bars
30 burpees
Run down Fury road to light pole past Nagoya
Run back to CFA
30 burpees at CFA
Run back up Fury Rd to Pullup station
(Roundtrip 1 mile and 60 burpees)
Then complete 10 Rounds of the following
10 Pullups
20 Pushups
30 Squats
Run down Fury road to light pole past Nagoya
Run back to CFA
30 burpees at CFA
Run back up Fury Rd to Pullup station
30 burpees
(Roundtrip 1 mile and 60 burpees)
We both finished right around 6:00 am.
For those keeping score at home the work consisted of:
2 miles
120 burpees
100 pullups
200 pushups
300 squats
Count/Pray
- Excellent work today
- Was surprised a bit at just how much adding the burpees ramped up the intensity and time required to complete. My heart was beating out of my chest.
- Widespread Panic radio was Pandora station today (got a little slow during the Pink Floyd song “Us and them” but otherwise delivered)
- Wasn’t planning to run today, but wanted to see how the knew felt so went with a workout with 2 miles.
- Inspector just puts in work. Great job.
