Last week YHC had a Fury Q just 3 days after the Swamp Rabbit Half Marathon, so that workout was specifically designed to be stationary with a fair amount of block work. Today, YHC decided to flip the script completely, we’re going on the road and no coupons will be involved. 5 pax answered the bell to join YHC on a road trip and would leave being better than they arrived (whether it felt like it or not).
Conditions: 29° and clear
Disclaimer: Given at the 1 minute warning
We’ll warmup on the way so let’s get started:
Fast mosey down Fury Rd, 5 burpees at the bottom
Mosey to the Kmart Harbor Freight parking lot. (Greenwood’s finest were sitting directly in front of the old Kmart so YHC opted to work in front of Harbor Freight. BTW, looks like they’re having a tent sale if anyone needs tools and is looking for a deal.)
Four Corners (Approx. 55 yards between light poles)
- At the first light pole – 10 Jungle Boy Squats
- Bear crawl to the second light pole
- 20 merkins
- AYG Sprint to the third light pole
- 30 flutter kicks – count right leg only
- Bear crawl to fourth light pole
- 10 burpees
- AYG Sprint back to the start
Mosey to the office building on Birchtree Dr
This portion of the work was stolen directly from an Alpo Q a couple of weeks ago.
- 10 decline merkins on the curb
- Lunge walk to the far end of the lot
- Backpedal up the hill beside the building
- Bear crawl down the hill
- Lunge walk back across the parking lot
- 10 Leg raises on the sidewalk
- Rinse and repeat one more time
Mosey back to the bottom of Fury Rd
Murderer’s Row
- At the first utility pole – 10 merkins
- Mosey to second utility pole – 10 BBSUs
- Repeat all the way to Grace St alternating 10 merkins and 10 BBSUs at every other pole
Junior (#crowdpleaser)
- Start at the first light pole
- AYG sprint to the second light pole
- Walk to the third light pole
- AYG sprint to the fourth light pole
- Slow mosey back down Junior
- Rinse and repeat one more time
Mosey to the Dentist Office. This is the first time YHC has made the loop in this direction and that is quite a climb after hill sprints on Junior.
20 LBCs
Mosey back to the starting line, cutting through the park

NMS
- A total of 3.16 miles were covered on the road trip today based on my Garmin.
- This type of workout is outside of YHC’s comfort zone, but that’s what makes us better, getting comfortable with being uncomfortable.
- Good to have Boy George join us at Fury. Too bad he had to get to a 6am meeting and just missed the pleasure of meeting Junior.
- Sugar led the way and set the pace for most of the morning. At least until the Junior sprints where Inspector decided to blow everyone’s doors off.
- Speaking of the Junior sprints: the first sprint section starts out fairly smooth and you feel like you’re moving pretty fast, then the hill incline changes about halfway and it’s like someone opened a parachute behind you.
- Strong effort, as usual, by Southern Belle and Unplugged(he’s a Fury regular now) as well.
- It’s always a pleasure to get the opportunity to lead. Thanks for pushing me to #getbetter in the gloom this morning fellas.
