F3 Greenwood

The Pax gathered for our Fall Dads & 2.0 Camp out at Connie Maxwell’s Camp Oasis.  Always a popular event, we had a great crowd on Friday night and Saturday morning.  Burger & Dogs were served Friday night to tunes provided by Judge Judy.  Pothole and others provided remote satellite service so football could be viewed, and campfires were built.  Hulk brought us a devotion and 2.0s were sent to bed with some effort.

Piddler, with the assistance of Judge Judy, kept smoking our butts all night long, not deterred by even a rainstorm!

Saturday morning dawned with good weather, and while Alpo, Boy George, Piddler, and Judge Judy worked to prepare a breakfast feast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, & cinnamon rolls, YHC led the remaining pax and 2.0s on a workout.

The workout consisted of a short run, followed by a warmup, then straight into a 4 team, Bear Crawl Snake (aka Spider Crawl) – All pax get in plank position, last pax in line bear crawls in a snake-like manner between each other pax on the team until the entire line has gone through.  We did this 2 times.

Our second exercise was F3 Duck, Duck, Goose.  One pax served as “picker”, and would walk around the circle until choosing a goose.  While saying “duck” all other pax would do an exercise, including: Squats, Merkins, Plank Jacks, Side Straddle Hops, Hillbillies, Imperial Walkers, Mountain Climbers, and V-ups.  YHC struggled to avoid being caught by the goose, and was only successful through trickery and deceit, rather than raw speed.

Nameorama was a blast, with so many 2.0s to name!

Piddler, as always, provided a fantastic barbeque lunch for everyone, including some M’s and other 2.0s who came for good food.

This was our 5th Dads and Kids campout, and it continues to be one of my favorite F3 events.  I know the Yellow Ninja looks forward to it as soon as he knows it’s coming, and we always have a great time.  Kudos to Boy George, who continues to organize and coordinate this event, providing food & leadership to a happy group of kids and their dads.  If you haven’t come to one, you should come to our next one in the spring, you won’t regret it.  (Loaner kids available upon request.)
