F3 Greenwood

11 Pax got salt and peppered on a clear beautiful Saturday morning with a slight breeze at Shipyard in Greenwood.

YHC then gathered group in circle and remembered the 22 veterans who commit suicide each day by doing 22 merkins. The YHC mixed things up a little bit by having everyone circle up, and said a quick pre-prayer for strength for group to wait on the Lord and soar like eagles and glorify God always with fitness, our fellowship, and faith in Lord. Then sent PAX to mosey to field , grab all coupons and set at goal line. Workout broke into 3 parts:

Part 1: Working up a sweat like I knew you would:
16 SSH
Combo-squats/Little arm circles 20 (Mac and Cheese named the Funky Chicken)

20 curls with coupon
Cut the grass 16
30 curls with coupon
jungle boy squats 16
40 curls with coupon
20 rows with coupon
10 overhead presses with coupon
20 rows with coupon
10 overhead presses with coupon
20 Dips on coupons
10 jungle boy squats
20 dips on coupons
16 air squats

Everyone loose and ready for Part 2-tribute to Spring football practice and spring game. As homage to my team, the Georgia Bulldogs and the 93k spring football game later that day, thought we would honor Georgia’s most famous player, Herschel Walker(number 34) and how he got fit-with Merkins and Merry!

first round-30 merkins, 40 LBC—everyone jog full length football field and back -warming for later sprints.
second round-30 merkins, 40 reverse crunches–everyone ran backwards 50 yards and then jogged back warming up.
third round -30 merkins,40 whirlyboys—everyone side stepped 50 yards down and back
fourth round-30 merkins, 40 big boy sit ups–at this point, PAX were whining about merkins, so we high stepped 50 yards and prepared for round 3.

Part 3- was a combo of some things we do at Hustle and at Fury. Team competition for some competitive fun.
Team 1-Round up, Baby Blue, Tickle, Boy George, Blue print, and Mac and Cheese
Team 2- Pusher, Meter Maid, Coffin, Benedict, and Cold Feet.

Object was to race to move coupons from one goal to the other goal and back for phase 1. Team 1 had to get 15 coupons and team 2 had to get 13 coupons across field and back , with caveat of one person can only have one coupon to carry at a time. We all started at 50 yard line. Dead sprint to one goal, every one grabbed a coupon and the fun and strategy began!

Some carried coupon all one hundred yards in sprint and others dropped theirs off at the 50 and went to get another to allow another PAX to take rest of way. Team 1 got their 15 coupons to other goal first and started moving them all back to other goal. Team 2 followed suit. As the race progressed team 2 got further behind to where Meter maid noticed team 1 had 2 coupons left to transport and team 2 had 4. Meter maid proceeded to move one of team 1 coupons out of way to where it was missed. When team 1 thought they had all coupons back to original goal, it was then they discovered they only had 14 and Mac and Cheese had to run down to get the one left behind. This put team 2 back in race. To counter, Baby blue and Round up created a man wall to block Meter Maid from simply cruising in with last team coupon to take lead. So, essentially it was a tie as both teams headed to the SIMPLE phase of the race.

YHC had brought 2 small waste baskets each filled with 8 corn hole bean bags. Each team member took turns throwing the eight bags to try to ring bucket. After each person threw, number of bean bags missed was number of burpies the team had to do. This is where FNG got name Benedict as he circled up with the wrong team, perhaps in error? YHC was concerned that a corn hole expert might be in PAX and the race end before it even started. Sure enough, Baby blue stepped up and said he was going to ring all eight first try. He was successful in getting one in! I guess he uses the board to get it in the hole. Um, that didn’t sound right. So , surprisingly the simple 10 foot toss into a basket was harder than imagined. Each team went thru once. Team 1 had 2 in basket and 32 burpies completed and team 2 had one in basket and 28 burpies done. And on it went , round after round and burpies after burpies. The original worry that YHC had of this not being challenging enough had changed into the fear that the PAX would be doing burpies until Fury and Epicenter were done an hour later. Fortunately, in the fifth time around , Round Up made the eighth bag in the basket for team 1 at which point both teams celebrated!

Circled back up:
Announcements- Mud Run, Whetstone, Relay for life, Camp out, read the newsletter!

Prayer requests–Coffin’s nephew, Mac and Cheese stepson, Meatloaf, Refuge 2.0, Benedict’s neighbors, among others.
YHC then shared his devotion that he read before coming out Matthew 18:19 that said that when 2 or more pray together and agree , it shall be done! That should have so much power with our group every morning. If we believe that verse, the last two minutes of each of our workouts are the most powerful thing we do all day! Our group has so much strength in prayer! Let’s use it.

We prayed , adjourned to coffeteria, and Boy George , Roundup and I went to widow’s house and cleaned up her yard and spread mulch. Great start to day!
