“Welcome this is a farmhouse
We have cluster-flies, alas,
and this time of year is bad
We are so very sorry
There is little we can do
but swat them”
Cluster flies….that’s all i can say we experienced this morning at Terrapin this morning. 6 guys gave Terrapin a go on this Monday Labor Day holiday. The work was solid and everyone was giving it their all, then it happened. An angry horsefly (or swarm of horse flies) attacked. Uncle Jesse and 2C were stung, Pusher was slapped on the head by Lighthouse (almost biting his tongue off), and Uncle Jesse had to leap to slap one on Lighthouse’s shoulder. Blu continued to work. 2C pushed through those last burpees as he was being swarmed. At 6:00am we called time, returned coupons, counted and named, but then abandoned the COT as the flies came back for more. It was an interesting workout to say the least.
It went down like this:
Warm up:
30 Pullups
The Work:
30 Burpees
100 Block Curls
Bear Crawl to other side of Field (30 yards or so?)
100 Merkins
Broad Jump Back
100 Thrusters
Beard Crawl across
100 Bonnie Blairs (count both legs)
Broad Jump Back
100 Big Boi Situps
30 Burpees
Early Finishers completed additional work and helped other round out their reps.
COT/BOM (abbreviated)
- Solid work by all 6 guys
- Lighthouse is on a different level. I want to be like him when i grow up.
- Good to see the guys pushing each other and providing positive reinforcement throughout the work. BenGay does a real good job with this and we should strive to all emulate.
