F3 Greenwood

7 Faithful Pax committed to honoring Army Sgt. Keith Adam Coe by completing our Hero WOD – COE.  For what looks like one of the more simple Hero WOD’s (because there’s only 2 monvements) The Pax would quickly realize this is going to be a solid test on our shoulders and legs.

Army Sgt. Keith Adam Coe was killed in action on April 27th, 2010, in Khalis, Irag, when enemy forces attached his unit with an explosive device.  He is survived by hi wife Katrina, 2 sons, Killian and Keith Jr, and daughter, Klover.  Too often when we remember the sacrifice of our Fallen Hero’s we fail to remember the ones they leave behind who have also sacrificed so much for us to be able to live freely in this Great Nation.  You can read more about Army Sgt. Keith Adam Coe, Hereand Here.

Conditions: 52 Degrees and feeling good.  But it didn’t take long for the sweat to start dripping off the forehead.

Disclaimer: I’m not a professional was blurted out as we began to mosey to the coupon pile.  I almost thought I detected a level of disappointment in the Pax that YHC was not a professional.  Wait a minute… or was that sarcasm because YHC felt the need to have to point that out.

Warm Up:

  • Mosey to the coupon pile

The Main Thing:

10 Rounds for Time:

  • 20 – Thrusters
  • 20 – Merkins

Results:

  • Nipples = 18:40
  • Pacer = 18:57
  • Sugar = 19:11
  • Pusher = 19:22
  • Meter Maid = 20:58
  • Alpo = 22:50
  • Woodpecker = 24:08

We returned the coupons to the pile and closed out the workout with a nice Mosey around the Epicenter to the Pull-Up Bars.  At which point YHC saw Pacer heading to the Pull-Up Bars (to stretch) and YHC thought that was a good idea and called 1 round of max effort on Pull-Ups.

Devo:

While reading about Army Sgt. Coe, YHC learned that Coe had experience some trouble in his life before finding the Army.  The Army made a difference in his life and gave him the ability to make an impact on others.  This made YHC think about the response most of us get when we are inviting or EHing someone to join us at F3, “I’m too out of shape to come workout with y’all” or “I need to get in shape before I come out there”.  YHC is sure all of you who have EHed enough people has heard this before.  And to that excuse our answer is generally something on the lines of “That’s what we are here for.  Come join us and we’ll help get you in shape.”  Well this is the same type of conversation we have with Jesus.  When we are called to do something for Christ, all too often, our response is “I’m not a strong enough Christian to do that” or “I need to grow more in my walk before I accept a task like that”.  Which Jesus’ response is “That’s what I’m here for.  Come to me as you are and I’ll help strengthen you to walk the walk and be a light for me”.  So YHC’s challenge is when you hear him call, join him, and trust in him to give you the strength to do his work.

  • Refer to news letter while it’s still in circulation and keep your eyes and ears out for what’s coming next.

Prayer Request:

  • Juggernaut sent me a message this morning telling me his M was really sick from her treatment. Continue to pray for her treatments and comfort.  Also pray for the family as it’s tough on everyone to see their wife (and Mom for the 2.0’s) struggle.
  •  Sugar’s cousin’s youngest 2.0 has been receiving treatment for seizures.  She’s gone a while with out having another seizure, but continue to pray for the tests to reveal an answer as to what may have caused them.  Also, the same cousin’s Mom, was recently in the Hospital.  Pray for the entire family as they have been going through a rough time.
  • Pacer asked for Prayers for all of his Military family.  Also include all of our Military personnel and their families as they all sacrifice so much for our Country.
  • Spud, Uncle Jessie, and Mr. Bean as they wrap up the tax season.  We’re here looking forward to y’all rejoining us in the Gloom.
  • Pray for all the Pax that are suffering through nagging injuries.

Prayer around our “Virtual Flag”

NMS:

  • T-Claps to Woodpecker for posting to RED Friday for his first time (At least YHC thinks it was his first time).  He pushed through the end of the workout like a true champion.  Also went back to the Pull-Up Bars to complete 5 more before we left.  He wasn’t going to get cheated today!
  • As usual Nipples was the Pace Setter.  Of course his time may have been a few seconds quicker if not for his DJ duties.  Of which we all are appreciative.  Especially Sugar.
  • Pacer showed us his true talents during the “Slow Mosey” to complete the workout.  It’s suggested that we get a parachute to attach to Pacer during “Slow Moseys” so we can keep up with him.
  • As with every RED Friday it’s nice to see and hear everyone pushing each other to finish strong.  T-Claps to the guys that finished early and put in extra work beside the guys (Sugar, Nipples, Pacer, and that were working on their last round.

Until Next Time,
