YHC noticed last night that this morning was Q-less, so after messaging the fearless leader of Fury to find out if a Q was needed, YHC decided to sign-up. During the drive to Fury this morning, YHC realized that YHC has never Q’d at “the hardest AO in the nation” before. YHC had some idea of a workout this morning but some of it was going to be on the fly and depended on how many PAX decided to roll out of the sack and post. Also, some of the workout was made up during a volleyball match last night at Lander. It was pretty quiet with the HC’s last night, so, who knew but YHC was pleasantly surprised to see T-Rav already there at 5:55 and then the rest of the PAX rolled in for a nice number of 6.

Weather – cooler so it felt better.

Disclaimer was actually given at 6.

Warm-up
SSH x 20
Cut the grass x 15
And that’s enough of that. Mosey to the pull-up bars.

Pull-up bars
5 pull-ups, bearcrawl (didn’t want to disappoint Southern Belle) 20 yards, run back to pull-up bar. Reduce pull-ups each time by one.

The Thang
Thunderstick Triplet
PAX were divided into groups of 3. Each group needed 2 coupons and one thunderstick. We used the white thunderstick for the BC. Coupons were placed 30 yards apart. One PAX started at each coupon and the other started with the thunderstick. Here’s how the work went down. The PAX that started with the thunderstick performed the exercise while the other two at the coupons performed the same exercise. When the PAX with the thunderstick reached the coupon, the thunderstick was traded off and the work continued.
Lungewalks and Manmakers
PAX at coupons performed manmakers while PAX with the thunderstick lungewalked. This was repeated until each PAX lungewalked the 30 yards twice.
Rifle Carry and Curls
PAX at coupons performed curls while other PAX rifle-carried the thunderstick. This was repeated until each PAX rifle-carried the 30 yards 4 times.
Lungewalks and Thrusters
PAX at coupons performed thrusters while PAX with the thunderstick lungewalked. This was repeated until each PAX lungewalked the 30 yards twice.
Rifle Carry and Triceps Extensions (This was a crowd pleaser. YHC didn’t expect the tricep fatigue with this one.)
PAX at coupons performed triceps extensions while other PAX rifle-carried the thunderstick. This was repeated until each PAX rifle-carried the 30 yards 4 times.

After that beating on our upper body, we happily discarded the thunderstick and moseyed to the road.

Moseying
We congregated in the middle of the road and we performed 25 merkins, air squats, and LBC’s. We lined up for an Indian Run and PAX were instructed that every time we stopped, we would reduce each exercise by 5. Stops included: corner at the entrance to Fury, Suunshine House parking lot, and fire department. We then reversed field and ran back up the road, did a little cross country running, ran half a lap around the pond and returned to the pull-up bars. There was about 5 minutes left. So we did one AMRAP of dips and big boy sit-ups.

Time was called. We put away all of the toys and went back to the flag.

NMS
-YHC enjoyed the first Q at Fury and am looking forward to another one. It always amazes YHC how fast time goes during a Q when you think you never had enough.
-Effort was great this morning by all PAX and was thrilled to see 6 show up.
-Was some mumble chatter about our thundersticks but that’s all YHC is going to say about that.
-YHC shared 1 Peter 1:13-16, MSG translation, 13-16 “So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.” YHC encouraged the PAX and himself to stay obedient to the Word. It’s easy to slip into bad habits but we are called to be obedient to Him. Just like we expect our kids to be obedient to us.

Until next time,
