F3 Greenwood

Day 6 of the March Madness  contest and everyone is still engaged and posting daily.  This might help the other AO’s but Fury only hosts the committed, the guys that are going to bring it the full workout, the guys that are into competition and pushing themselves to the limit as often as their bodies will allow.  So the numbers might be higher at other AO’s but the effort will never match that of Fury.

The Warm Up

Fury doesn’t often have a warm up and especially not one without Burpees, but at the persistent request of Duggar YHC felt obliged to provide one.  SSHs were what came to mind as we were waiting for Uncle Jesse to arrive “Hot.”

The THANG

This was a method that I gleaned from Piddler a few days prior as a finisher.  It would have been better to start with a higher rep count, but I was looking for strict Pull Ups.

Hibachi Hill To&Fro (1mile)

We paused at the bottom of Fury Rd to find a partner to race/sprint with back to the pull up bars. YHC called out UJ and left him at the start.  For about the first 30ft I was setting the pace and then he passed me, and proceeded to pull away dragging my tail to the finish.  Definitely need to practice more of these “long distance sprints.”  These are super tough at taxing the lungs.

 

YHC called out Black Jack with reps of 11………but then realized my mistake about the time MM and Sugar began producing a much deserved chastising comment.  So the corrected just plain old 11s were the order of the day.

Duggar shot out of a cannon and showed the rest of us how to blaze through this work like no other.  Those that finished early planked/25LBCs/planked for the 6.

Mosey to the gazebo

Just as we arrived at the gazebo the bottom fell out and what was just a sprinkle turned into a down pour.

It was here that YHC had planned for another Hibachi Hill To&Fro, but the rain was still coming in sheets so a quick modification was in order.

Like I said at the top, the guys that post at Fury post to push themselves and their limits.  These are the guys that I find the most in common with.  These are the guys that I find drive me to a bigger and better me.  It’s tough, it’s supposed to be.  Come out and try it if you haven’t.  It won’t be easy, but you won’t regret it either.  It was an honor and a privilege.
