I started the morning hitting snooze twice. As I was laying in bed putting off getting up, the Red Friday AOQ texted and said that a 2.0 was sick and he could not make it. So, I got my butt up and got in gear. Since I was dealing with a shin splint, my plan was to go rogue and do one of the WODs that does not involve running. When I rolled up, Ben Gay and Rain Man were already there and Southern Bell soon followed. I told the group that I planned to do the Barbara WOD to avoid running and Southern Bell said that he also needed to avoid running due to the “Run Your Ice Off” the next day. So, the group decided that we would all do the Barbara WOD. It goes as follows:
Barbara:
5 Rounds for time:
- 20 Pull-ups
- 30 Merkins
- 40 Sit-ups
- 50 Squats
Results:
Southern Bell – DNF (Left early)
Tootsie Roll – 35:53
Ben Gay – 36:02
Rain Man – 36:37
Even though we did not focus on a workout dedicated to a certain fallen soldier as we normally do, and since Rain Man was new to Red Friday, we discussed what we do on Red Friday, what it means to us, and how important it is to give max effort.
Great job this morning Rain Man! Great to have you on Red Friday!
