In the back of my mind, I was secretly hoping no one would show up for Fury. I stayed up late watching the game. I knew Meter had pushed a strong recruitment to Emerald, so I laid low hoping maybe I would get a pass. An early morning text from Alpo explaining he would not be present had me thinking I was right. But on the way to Fury, I passed Southern Belle at the red light and knew where he was headed. So there it was, time to do some work even though I didn’t feel like it. The two of us headed towards the pull-up bar area and put in the work. It went like this:
Warm Up (10 mins)
100 Merkins, 100 Big Bois Situps, 100 squats
The Thang
1550
15 Burpees and 50 big boys;
14 Burpees and 50 chest presses;
13 Burpees and 50 monkey humpers;
12 Burpees and 50 flutters;
11 Burpees and 50 bicep curls;
10 Burpees and 50 jungle bois;
9 Burpees and 50 V-Ups;
8 Burpees and 50 KB swings;
7 Burpees and 50 bonnie blairs;
6 Burpees and 50 Russian Twists
5 Burpees and 50 OH Presses
4 Burpees and 50 plank jacks
3 Burpees and 50 LBCs
2 Burpees and 50 thrusters (Southern Belle has to leave during this time)
1 burpee and 50 pullups
Each round include a back pedal across the field to the woods and a mosey back.
NO COT/BOM
- Secretly I knew Southern Belle likely had to leave early. Again, I was hoping he would leave before the Thruster/Pull-up combo. As noted above, he left halfway through the Thrusters. I was tempted to stop, but made my mind up to go ahead and finish. I knocked out the remaining Thrusters, then moved to the final round. I managed to get myself through the 50 pull-ups even though I clearly didn’t want to. No one was watching, no accountability partner, just me and the pullup bar. It sucked while I was doing it (and my hands almost froze) but in hindsight, I’m glad I did it. There should be no quit in F3 Greenwood.
- Southern Belle was in the zone this morning. Putting in serious work and we went toe to toe on every round. It was good to have that push.
