By now, you have probably seen and hopefully read my email that was sent yesterday with a challenge to find an event or multiple events to train for during the year. An event that is tough, that is out of your comfort zone, that will cause you to have to be uncomfortable, that will make you better. An event that will allow you to train beside your F3 brothers and revel in the success after it’s over.
Along with that, myself and the AOQs have decided to hold monthly challenges that will hopefully encourage and engage the pax to post frequently to runs, bootcamps, 2nd Fs…and any other F3 offerings.
The challenge for January is to post at 7 runs and 11 bootcamps during the month. All qualifying pax will be entered into a drawing for some sort of prize.
See you men in TheGloom!
Below is the text from previously mentioned email:
2017 has been good, even great at times for F3Greenwood. But, 2017 is over. 2018 is staring us in the face and asking “What are you going to be this year?” My hope is that everyone’s answer is simply “Better than before.”
That’s my challenge to myself in 2018 and to all of the pax in F3Greenwood…let’s be better than we have been. Challenge ourselves, set goals, beat them, then set more.
Maybe you’ve run a 5k race, now make it a 10k, or a half marathon. Maybe you’ve done a mud run or a Spartan sprint, do the Spartan Trifecta. Maybe you’ve run the BRR on a 12-man team, now do it as 6. You get the point…set goals that will require hard work and dedication. Get uncomfortable. Push yourselves.
The event/events you choose isn’t the important part, its the work thats the required to get there. Something happens when you stop “working out” and start “training.” It creates discipline, you can’t cut corners, you can’t skip reps, it creates accountability.
This can be your year. No bullshit, no excuses. Get organized, plan your events, and start training. You will become your best physical self this year.
