F3 Greenwood

YHC had the brief privilege of conducting a wedding service years back for a great young couple in our church. The groom and all his buddies in the wedding were all Green Berets. The best man of that service was Dustin Wright. The couple informed and reminded YHC  a few weeks back that Dustin was one of the four Green Berets who killed on October 4th in Niger. They asked YHC to prayer for his friends and family. So, honoring Dustin and the other three fallen that day on seemed appropriate. Dustin has just turned 29 on September 24.

The Warm-Up: Mosey to the coupon cage and retrieve a coupon.

The Thing: (YHC wanted to try out some new movements, muscle confusion is clearly the key to this body)

24 coupon overhead step ups (Block was held overhead as the step up was preformed.)

24 over the coupon burpees (Burpee and then jump over the coupon turn around and repeat)

24 kb swings

24 goblet squats

24 over the coupon merkins (One had was atop the coupon, alternating one hand elevated on the coupon was preformed)

24 shoulder taps BTW. (Get upside down on the wall and tap your shoulder)

400 meter run with coupon (This done to slow down the speed demons to a Hulk level)

4 rounds to honor the 4 fallen.

NMS:

YHC knew this would not be easy, but the difficulty was surprising. YHC loved the additional and new challenges of the traditional movements as well did the other PAX. The fear of smashing your skull while holding in last dinner while upside down is always a crowd pleaser. The shoulders took a beating quick. The fourth round could not be completed by anyone due to time. Barcode is a machine! He was the front runner, but held up a minute on his last run so all the PAX could finish almost together. YHC still has a hard time keeping even with those guys even with blocks on their shoulders!

COT

Manvotional: Dustin’s brother described him as ““His strength would startle you but then his softness would catch you off guard,” “He could make anyone smile.” This reminded YHC of Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” Meekness is the right level and right application of straight in the given situation.

Prayers for for the families and friends of the four Green Berets, Pacer’s uncle, Barcode unspoken, and a family in YHC’s church.
