YHC has been trying to “ease back in” to the routine of working out and let my body readjust after nearly four weeks with no activity. Blew that plan up by posting to Fury Tuesday and Thursday. UncleJesse and BabyBlu have little sympathy for a guy on the mend and showed no mercy – as it should be. YHC was already waffling mentally on posting to REDFriday when UJ said he needed a sub-Q for the one-and-only redwood original REDFriday. Since YHC doesn’t believe in coincidences, I jumped at the opportunity.
YHC was looking to bring something new and different to REDFriday. Some time back, YHC took screenshots of 20 or so new hero WODs that had been released, but had never really looked at them. They ended up buried in 1,000+ pictures on the ole smart phone. After a busy family evening (which Included checking out the new “IT” movie with my youngest 2.0 – great film. Go see it!), YHC was just settling in about 9 p.m. and started thumbing through those old screenshots. And there it was. . .beckoning me like a cross-dressing hooker in a dark alley in Italy. . .Adrian.
U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Adrian Elizalde, 30, of North Bend, OR, assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne), based in Fort Lewis, WA, died on August 23, 2007, in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained from an improvised explosive device.
He is survived by his parents, Jorge and Teresa Elizalde, sister Rachel, and daughter Sydney Grace.
We finished that one up with some time to spare. When scanning through Hero WODs, YHC passed over Brenton several times because, well, it sucks. Pretty sure it was Sour who initially called Brenton “the worst 6 minutes of your life” sometime ago. We had just finished Brenton and the consensus was that Brenton seems like it will not be very tough, but ends up being one of the hardest metabolic burns you can get. Someone remarked that he couldn’t believe it had only been 6 minutes. Someone else remarked that it was an awful 6 minutes. Sour then added, “That was the worst 6 minutes of my life.”
So we added in Brenton.
Field Training Officer Timothy Quinn Brenton, 39, of the Seattle Police Department, was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting while on duty on October 31, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Lisa, his son Quinn, and daughter Kayliegh.

Great work by Trojan and 2C. The fence jumps were modified from wall walks to add some fun and do something different. It was like being back in an old school gymnastics class where working out is a blast. This WOD definitely made the list of “must repeat” workouts.
