11 Pax got up and started their day off at Terrapin with an hour long workout that proved to be one that pushed the limits.  When I drew it up, I wanted it to be hard, I wanted the PAX to stick together, and I wanted to get some burpees in (a little self serving as my personal July “challenge” includes a lot of burpees).  I also wanted to make sure the PAX who do not visit Terrapin often, got a chance to see all of the cool things the AO has to offer.

As a nod to our Nantan’s trip to the NKOTB, Paula Abdul, Boyz to Men concert, I brought out the Milli Vanilli Pandora station to hit somewhere in the vicinity of that genre.  Pusher was pleased.

The work went like this:

Warmup

30 Burpees OYO

Partner Up

Dora 1, 2, 3, 2 ,1

Work is cumulative. P1 works, Partner 2 runs to playrgound area (approx. 25 yards) and performs 5 Pullups or 10 second bar hang or 5 box jumps (Pax Choice)

100 Burpees

200 Jungle Boi Squats

300 Big Boi Sit Ups

200 Merkins

100 Bonnie Blairs (count right leg only)

Mosey to Bathroom Facility

Balls to Walls

30 Sec Balls to Wall

10 Sec rest

20 second balls to wall

10 sec rest

10 second balls to wall

(Extra credit for HSPU/Shoulder Taps)

  • Great work by all.
  • Second Chance is really putting in work out there, love this guy’s attitude and approach.
  • PBP – Polly being Polly was on display.  Complaining about all of the work called, but he stepped up and got through all of the work.  Great job.
  • After over two years of doing this, I never felt like I was as close to death as I was today.  Ironically, not because of the workout, but due to Hulk unleashing such rancid flatulence during the burpee broad jumps it would have made a billy goat puke.  Dear Lord, please pray for this man.
  • Speaking of Hulk, fantastic work on the Balls to the Wall.  Shoulder taps were on display. Other notable Balls to the Wall performers (ones that I happened to witness) were Tickle, T-rav, and Pusher.   Great form.  I’ve been considering implementing this work for a while, and Juggs brought it out at Tsunami last week so I felt like keeping the momentum.  We will work to integrate the Hand Stand Pushup (HSPU) and Shoulder Taps as folks get more comfortable being inverted.
  • The sprint/race up Charles Street was one for the books.  Everyone pushed it hard.
  • Good crowd at Howards and everyone’s order was accurate (Howard was absent).
  • Piddler and Pothole came and brought “millions of peaches”.
  • Grits were the best I’ve ever had.
