After a 48 hour recruiting blitz to increase numbers at Fury, YHC was anxious to see the turnout Saturday morning. Boy George and Spud were present when I pulled up, but no one was else was to be seen. Had my efforts been in vain? Luckily, I checked my twitter feed and noticed that my NCAA violation riddled recruitment of 5 star Baby Blu had worked as he pulled the Fury cap from his choice of AOs. Ultimately, the free meal at Howard’s worked much to the dismay of the socialites at the Shipyard. Then, folks started piling in. Eventually the number rose to 10 and I knew Juggar had HC’d so I was looking at 11 PAX for Saturday Fury. Surely that would eclipse the amount at Shipyard and Epicenter? Unfortunately, Juggar’s fax machine must have been broken and his Letter of Intent never came through. So 10 PAX set off for what was a mostly improvised workout due to Baby Blu’s commitment. I removed the planned hill work and replaced with additional strength training and a quick Dora to close things out. I think it delivered as I know I struggled to get through the work. Here’s how it went down:
The Thang:
No warm up – Mosey to Entrance to Genesis (ask Baby Blu to identify the 100 yd marker)
Road Work
- 20 Lunges
- 100 yard sprint
- 10 jump squats (Capri style Jungle Bois)
- (Plank until everyone finished)
- Rinse/Repeat x 5.
Crab walk 50 yards then Bear crawl 50 yards.
Run to pull up bars
Stationary work: (All work OYO and partition as you see fit)
- 50 Manmakers – (dear me)
- 50 pullups
- 50 KB swings
- 50 Curls
- 50 dips
- 50 Monkey Humpers
DORA 1, 2, 3
Grab a partner and complete the following work cumulative. P1 performs work while P2 runs to Woods (about 25 yards) touches tree and runs back for the switch.
100 Big Boi Sit-ups
200 Air Squats
300 Bench Presses
Early Finishers assist teams by performing additional reps.
COT/BOM
- Great work by all PAX this morning. Limits were tested and folks pushed through
- YHC encouraged PAX to ask others to join Fury from time to time. It was nice to have 10 to work with.
- Juggar’s absence did not go unnoticed. A lonely coupon was placed in his honor throughout the work. Had his LOI showed up, we would have had 11 PAX and would have eclipsed the marks set at Shipyard and Epicenter, but we will settle for the tie this time.
- Howard’s was good as always.
- Ants attacked Spud and YHC for the second day in a row.
- Sour mentioned that YHC was bulking up, to which I told him I was simply buying smaller shirts. I strive to one day have Sour’s upper body physique.
Until next time. Uncle Jesse.
