F3 Greenwood

YHC has had the pleasure of posting to workouts with BLIMPS in the past and recently punched the passport at #GideonsHouse up in F3SwampRabbit where we built 10 BLIMPS. That was pretty #Turrible. Then YHC discovered the Hindenburg BLIMPS while randomly perusing the Lexicon and Exicon. YHC highly recommends this as it can be both entertaining and edifying. It’s where YHC learned the difference between the #Bank and the #BankBank, among other things.

YHC was joined by 15 other pax, including one FNG as we got underway. Simple CoP (SSH, Merkins and Squats). YHC, as 1stF Q is still not a professional, but spent a lot of time doing Olympic lifting and perfecting his squat. So the pax spent some time learning about #KneesOut, the #HipCrease and a brief mention of #ButtWink.

Away we went on a flight across the Atlantic.

Hindenburg BLIMPS: Modified version of BLIMPS. Done on a field. Perform exercise at corner #1, sprint to corner #2, perform exercise. Sprint to corner #3 perform exercise. Then to corner #4, exercise and then back to corner #1 to begin next exercise.

  • Round 1 – 10 Burpees
  • Round 2 – 20 Lunges
  • Round 3 – 30 Imperial Walkers
  • Round 4- 40 Merkins
  • Round 5 – 50 Plank Jacks
  • Round 6 – 60 Squats

No one made it to the squats, but the Hindenburg came in hot and crashed when the pax discovered the false ending to the workout. An inferno ensued. After YHC called “Recover!” we circled up unexpectedly for some #6MOM that involved fast and slow flutterkicks, a discussionof what six inches REALLY is (this long ——) and finally some FeddieMercury. The look on the faces of some pax when YHC called out, “The next exercise is . . .” was priceless. Nothing will test and build mental toughness quite like thinking the pain is over only to find that it is starting again. After mentally gearing down it can be tough to get back in the right mindset to continue. Good work, men.

Count, Name – Welcome FNG #FullMoon!

Devo: T-Rav touched on Accountability in his VQ on Tuesday. He focused on what Accountability is and YHC wanted to piggy-back a little bit. Accountability is what sharpens us as men. Sharpening is a painful process. It’s not roses and frolic-like prancing. It’s the removal of rust and dross that has attached itself to our lives, the removal of which can be very painful. But it’s really neat to see other men being sharpened and how their lives change through that process. It motivates YHC to continue the sharpening process.

For YHC, the real sharpening usually begins with me getting really ticked at what someone says to me. That reaction is typically because they are right and I need to adjust. It’s worth noting that YHC is not aware of a single man in F3 Greenwood who would say something to make another man better with anything other than that man’s best interest in mind. YHC often falls flat on his face in the delivery, but truly wants the best, not the good enough. It’s what we all want. Sharpen up, brothers.

Until next time . . .

Jugz out!
