Some guys never quit, never even allow the thought of such a blasphemous thing enter the domain of their minds. Ryan Job was one of those guys, a devil for the details; a guy who never took a shortcut. For anything. Ever. YHC was joined by 11 such men this morning to pay honor to the perseverance of Ryan Job and to learn a little lesson on perseverance of our own.
YHC encouraged PAX to not cut any corners today. Full extension on the pull-ups. Full range of motion on the lunges and push ups. Don’t cut the corners on the run. Yes, that means even the little piece of asphalt that cuts off the corner of the main path. (YHC failed to provide the proper details here and now faces the wrath of Sugar and MeterMaid and their unique yet amusing brand of, er, sharpening.

Meatloaf reminded us to do our 22 merkins to support #22KILL and raise awareness for the 22 veterans who will commit suicide today. #TClaps to UncleBuck, the only man I know who is not a vet/active duty/reservist to reach out to a veteran since the challenge was issued 10 days ago. Mem, you really don’t know how much of a difference it will make and you really have no reason not to do it.

- This one was tough. YHC did this at CrossFit757 in Norfolk, Va., when visiting parents a couple of years ago. Didn’t remember it being that tough.
- “I’m sure I’ve done workouts harder than that one. I just don’t remember any of them.” – Duggar. Aye.
- Out of respect for what I witnessed this morning, I’ll leave out the usual snarky material that I like to add to NMM. But do let me tell you what happened. Boy George posted to his first #REDFriday and crushed it. It was Lego’s and Bambi’s second #REDFriday. They crushed it, too. But they didn’t do it alone. It was the constant shouts of “Keep pushing!” “Don’t quit” “Finish strong!” echoing around the entire Epicenter that drove us all forward. It was every guy out there, tired and out of breath, who ran the last 1000m run because we couldn’t honor Ryan Job and leave a man down range. It was all the tweets and Slack banter about what took place out there this morning. We’re all better for having embraced the suck together. It’s #REDFriday in the Wood.
Aye! Jugz Out!
